Year 4 Term 4 - Week 5 & 6
Mali has recently been assigned independent work to complete on her own every Monday when I am working. She will do one lesson of reading comprehension workbook and one unit of math workbook or a revision worksheet to consolidate her math concept from a previous week.
She continues to improve her typing response in full sentence and try her best to fix any punctuation or grammar mistakes.
We still continue to do our Daily Grammar at least twice a week.
Art - Mali continue to practise her drawing during her spare time. She is using mix media & technique both online and off line. She is trying out painting with Gouache water coloring and hoping to experiment with shading her drawings.
Math - Mali is now proficient at 2,3,4,5,9,10 & 11 times table. She is still working towards memorising
6,7,8 & 12. She understands how to do single & double digits multiplication.
We have also try to incorporate math problem solving and money problem into her lesson. She also learns to add up multiple numbers wit decimal point from the shopping list/receipt.
She is practising rounding up price from our regular grocery shopping so she can work out approximate cost mentally.
We also learn simple 1D, 2D and 3D shapes and how to work out perimetre, area and volumn of each shape.
Geography - we continue to learn about Africa Savannah through Virtual field trip and YouTube vdo on Life on the African Savannah. She also watch a special vdo report on Egypt.
Science - we watch a few vdo experiment on heat conduction and how different materials transfer heat experiment. We usually make prediction before watching each vdo and then discuss the outcome after the vdo.
We also watch BTN report episode 32 & 33 to keep up with what's going on around the world.
