Year 4 Term 2 - Week 3 & 4

Term 2 - Week 3 & 4 Edge GreenWay | Mixed Media and Collage using Natural Materials - 18th May 2022 In this workshop we will collect flora from the surrounding area and experiment with ways of including it in a mixed media artwork. We will take a walk outside and collect natural “art tools” to make marks: feathers, twigs, grasses, pine needles, seed pods, are a few examples. Leaves and flowers can be used as stencils and masks or as printing tools. Layer leaf and floral shapes to create an instant artful print. Year 4 Term 2 - Week 1 & 2

We had a very busy start to Term 2 with a full day excursion at the Royal Botanical Garden on Wed 27th April 2022 oragnised by SHEN. There were 35 kids and parents attended so it was a great day of fun and learning for everyone. Program details: 10-12 pm: Plan Bee  The Sydney area hosts over 200 amazing native bee species, vital for pollination and ecosystem function. Stimulate curiosity about these amazing pollinators in this dynamic hands-on workshop and engaging presentation aligned to meet NSW Science & Technology and Geography syllabuses for Stage 1, 2 or 3. This is a special new program run by Kids Connecting Nature and has a different format to other Royal Botanic Garden excursion programs. For each 2-hour booking you will receive approximately 1.5 hours of face-to-face presentation and workshop, and are given approximately 30 minutes for a self-guided walk of the nearby gardens to look for bees and complete pollinator-related activities.
