Year 4 Term 2 - Week 5 & 6

Week 5 & 6

We enjoyed night excursion to VIVID light festival this week. It was great for Mali and her friend to be able to explore various art displays in such wonderful settings all around Sydney. They also get the opportunity to learn a bit of history of each sites as we walked around.

We have signed up for a few online Live events over the next few weeks with Australian National Maritime Museum to supplement this term Science study on Ecosystem.

25th May 2022 - LIVE EVENT Marvellous Marine Food Webs (Years 1-6) (Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)

Explore the tropical shallows and icy ocean depths in this introduction to Ocean Food Webs with the Australian National Maritime Museum.
Primary School students (years 1-6) will engage with our Museum Educator while learning about some of the diverse creatures that live in our oceans; from the smallest to the largest, from producers to predators. We also highlight plankton, their superpowers and the important role they play in all ocean food webs.

Mali continue to expend her multiplication knowledge upto 3 digits using various techniques of working out.

She is also able to translate her knowledge of Fraction into words problem solving.

As for English, we continue to read 4 more chapters of this term novel and expanded Mali's vocabulary and learning to guess new word meaning from the context of what she was reading.

She also enjoyed reading comprehension and learning basic grammar.
Mali has started her Online Typing lessons which she really enjoys.
As for Art & craft, her favourite things to do are practicing Anime drawing and making her own homemade slime 🤣

Year 4 Term 3 - Week 7 & 8

Week 7 & 8  Mali has read 2 novels this term so far so as a treat, we chose an ebook from the library that I can read to her. She really enjoyed being read to and simply follow the words and find out new vocabulary and discuss storyline together. We decided on Stunt Kids by Trent Roberts. We have read 5 chapters so far this week. Mali continues to do her reading comprehension workbook independently. Science & History - we have decided to incorporate more independent learning when I am away. Mali will complete her assigned tasks via email and send an email to me when she had completed her tasks. It's a great way for her to spend some independent time while staying with her Nanna. Math - Art - some sample of Mali's digital drawing.
